Concerned, I called my urologist and set up an appointment, which included all sorts of tests, scans, and scopes. Within a week the answer was confirmed: a tumor on my bladder. Cancer, stage 3—not good. The doctor said it looked as if it had been there a while, though I had just seen him four months before. Surgery was scheduled for Monday, just 11 days after the blood first appeared. The doctor removed the tumor and treated the site with a form of immune therapy. He [&hellip;]

Ruth observed that over 400 Nicaraguan pastors have died during the pandemic, leaving ministry wives not only with the devastating loss of a husband but due to leadership changes, frequently the loss of the congregation they once served. - [Paul Zettersten: Finishing Well](https://fcaministers.com/paul-zettersten-finishing-well/): This month the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies said goodbye to one of the truly great FCA leaders of our times. [mp_stack stack=&#8221;179&#8243;] Paul Zettersten was born in Sweden in 1922 and passed away December 6 at the age of 99. While still in Sweden, young Paul followed in his father’s footsteps to enter the ministry. He married his wife, May, on November 15, 1947 while still in the old country, but they immigrated to the United States the following year. Together, Paul and May served Immanual Christian Assembly in Los Angeles from 1948 until 1976. Paul resigned as pastor to [&hellip;]

Justin Finton comes from his role as youth pastor of Abundant Life Church in Blaine, MN, where he grew the youth program even during the worst months of the pandemic as well as through a pastoral transition. - [The Legacy and Impact of Harmon Johnson](https://fcaministers.com/the-legacy-and-impact-of-harmon-johnson/): Long-time FCA minister, Harmon Alden Johnson, 87, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on September 28, 2020, in Decatur, GA, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. He was born May 22, 1933, in McGregor, Minnesota, to Alma and Arthur Johnson, a Minnesota pastor who later served serve Salem Gospel Tabernacle, an early FCA church in Brooklyn, New York. Harmon attended North Central University (then North Central Bible College) in Minneapolis and was ordained to the ministry by Lake View Gospel Church in Chicago, Illinois in 1955. At the time of her home-going she resided in a Texas nursing home under hospice care. Her daughter, Terry, shared that for several years Billie had been eagerly anticipating going to be with the Lord. George and Billie Call were married in 1946 after his return from service in the Navy. They came to the Lord early in their marriage and became faithful servants of Jesus. When he and his wife, Amy, began their ministry, they put a blessing box in front of their house. Each day they would put over $200 worth of canned food in it, as well as food donations from others. Sensationalism sells advertising. So it’s easy to understand why media outlets are motivated to tell the most compelling, even shocking stories. Routine stories cannot compete for attention — not in the crowded arena filled with alarming reports and frightening, disturbing events.  Most reporters (tabloid writers excluded) pride themselves on being “objective, neutral and unbiased,” but it’s no surprise they are inclined to tell stories that grab attention — stories that sell. At this point in time: Per the governor of Washington State, all churches with 250 and greater must suspend services, or ensure no greater than 250 gather at any one time. - [John Lewis Named Pastor of Grace Church](https://fcaministers.com/john-lewis-named-pastor-of-grace-church/): [mp_stack stack=&#8221;157&#8243;] Grace Church of New Glarus, Wisconsin, a small, rural town south of Madison with just over 2,000 people, has named John Lewis as their new lead pastor. For nearly 20 years, John has served the church as its youth pastor, working under the ministry of Pastor Roger Olsen who recently went to be with the Lord. Grace Church of New Glarus was started in 1992 by a small group of believers. A year later Roger Olsen was called to come and pastor the small congregation of about 50. His faithful ministry and God&#8217;s grace over the past 26 [&hellip;]

It was Christmas Day that Derek went to the hospital Emergency Room knowing something was not quite &#8220;right.&#8221; The doctors admitted him because of heart problems, but he has not been able to return home since that day. Sylvia was born in Chicago and raised in northern Minnesota. Human fallibility as well as the limitations of geophysical science were set aside in a 13-month long trial in Italy. On October 22, six Italian scientists and an ex-government official were sentenced to six years in prison over the 2009 deadly earthquake in L’Aquila. A regional court found them guilty of multiple manslaughter. Prosecutors said the defendants gave a falsely reassuring statement before the quake, while the defense maintained there was no way to predict major quakes. In 1945 they began seeing pamphlets stating the war had ended, but Onoda dismissed them as propaganda.
