Dear Follower of Jesus Christ and Pastoral Candidate,
Thank you for your interest in possibly serving our small congregation in
McGregor, Minnesota. We are eager to meet you and see what God has in mind
for both you and for us at The Lighthouse Christian Church (“the Lighthouse”). A
A pastoral candidate (male or female) would need to meet the requirements, be
Bible-based and agree with our Statement of faith, as well as be willing to
perform in the following ways to the best of their ability.

Description/Requirements

  1. Those applying to and serving in any Pastoral capacity at the Lighthouse Christian church must be motivated primarily by a response to a calling by God into the office of Pastor. 
  2. Pastor(s) must continue to grow in their faith, spiritual maturity, and deepening relationship with God and Jesus Christ through the indwelling Holy Spirit as described in the Holy Bible.
  3. Pastor(s) must actively become and remain in the practice of praying over this church; its members, its leaders, its missions, and its ministries.
  4. Working in conjunction with the Leadership Team and other current pastors, pastors will participate in spiritual oversight for this church.
  5. Pastor(s) will share the responsibility to prepare and present sermons based on the Word of God each month as assigned. 
  6. Pastor(s) will coordinate with the Leadership Team and other pastors regarding:
  • Weekly order of Sunday service(s)
  • Weekly Sunday worship music & possible scripture reading
  • Training and scheduling of Prayer Team coverage for Sundays
  • Mentoring and scheduling for mini Communion Messages
  • Coordinate scheduling for Missions Sunday presentations
  1. Pastor(s) will attend and participate in monthly Leadership Team Meetings
  2. Pastor(s) will counsel and pray with and for:
  • Parishioners with various needs and concerns (within ministry guidelines)
  • Pre-marriage counseling for engaged couples (to only include a man and woman) to be married by a pastor of this church
  • Grieving families (and funeral preparation) 
  • The church’s Leadership Team and other pastors
  1. Pastor(s) will be available to prepare and present regular and special Bible  studies and teachings when needed.
  2. Pastor(s) will be able and available to officiate at baptisms, funerals, and weddings in keeping with the tenants of God’s Word (the Bible).
  3. Pastor(s) will strive to continuously represent Christ Jesus and the Lighthouse in a manner that is in keeping with Scripture.
  4. Pastor(s) will strive to maintain godly, loving and cooperative relations with our facility hosts and neighbors.
  5. Pastor(s) will strive to maintain godly, loving and cooperative relations with the local ecumenical churches.
  6. Pastor(s) must be ready to serve all people, saved and unsaved, as Christ did.
  7. Pastors will readily mentor others within the church, helping to identify, hone and encourage the use of spiritual giftings to serve God and the church.
