Long-Standing FCA Minister Passes

Long-Standing FCA Minister Passes
Published on:

One of our long-standing FCA Pastors, Marvin Jones from North Bay, Ontario, passed away on Sunday April 15, 2012. Please keep Marvin’s wife, Fern and son Byron in your prayers.

Marvin was an ordained minister since February 20, 1974 and initially registered with FCA through Gospel Lighthouse in Toronto in 1992. He was a member of both the Independent Assemblies of God and FCA, as some of our older ministers maintained dual credentialing when FCA came into Ontario. Fountaingate Christian Assembly (Pastor Brad Montsion) endorsed Marvin in 2004 when Toronto Gospel Lighthouse left FCA after Wilfred Lawrenson retired as Senior Pastor.

The details of Marvin’s visitation and funeral are as follows:

Thursday, April 19th, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. – Visitation at Faith Chapel, North Bay

Friday, April 20th, 10 a.m. to 12 noon – Visitation at Faith Chapel, North Bay

Friday, April 20th, 2:00 p.m. – Funeral Service at Faith Chapel, North Bay

Faith Chapel is located at O’Brien Street & Hyw 11 (TransCanada Highway) in North Bay.

The Jones family is well known and respected in the community, as Marvin and his wife pastored Faith Chapel for almost 40 years and owned Rose Bowl Florist for more than 45 years. He will be missed.
