National Coordinator Breaks Foot During Mission Trip

National Coordinator Breaks Foot During Mission Trip
Published on:

Warren Heckman, FCA’s U.S. National Coordinator, fractured his foot on September 2 while walking downhill during a visit to Uganda. He was scheduled to speak at a conference being hosted by veteran missionary Ron DeVore.

“My foot was twisted around totally opposite of where it should be,” he reported by phone from an international hospital to his wife, Donna, back in Burnsville, Minn. Surgery was scheduled for the next day (Sept. 3), during which pins would be inserted to maintain the resetting.

The accident happened in the midst of a five-week African trip that started in mid-August with excellent meetings at the FCA-Nigeria convention. Still on the schedule are stops in Tanzania and Kenya.

“Are you coming home now?” Donna Heckman asked her husband.

“Oh, no,” the irrepressible Warren replied. “I can sit down and still preach!”

Watch this site for further updates on what in fact transpires. Meanwhile, do pray for Warren’s recovery and safety.
