Position: Worship Leader
Part time: 10-15 hour weekly
Non-Employee Compensation (NEC) $400.00 monthly

Worship Leader Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and godly worship leader to join our small congregation at “The Lighthouse”. The Worship Leader directs and manages the worship piece of our services, including music selection, and provides spiritual guidance to our congregation through songs. The Worship Leader will ensure that the services are engaging and meaningful for our members to
facilitate a deeper spiritual relationship with God the Father and Jesus His Son.

First and Foremost, Requirements:
1. A believer in Jesus, the Son of God, as their Lord and Savior; John 3:3, Jesus says 
“Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again”.
 
2. Functions in the flow of the Holy Spirit; John 4:24, “God is a Spirit: and they that
worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth”;

Worship Leader Duties and Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the pastors, select appropriate music for each service
• Disburse weekly worship list and music in a timely manner by Tuesday’s deadline
• Lead the congregation in worship through song, prayer and scripture reading
• Participate in various church activities, such as Bible studies, small groups, and outreach
• Work cohesively with church leadership and worship team to ensure that all services are
  properly planned and executed
• Manage and mentor the worship team with Kindness and respect, being open to their
  ideas and input
• Coordinate and lead weekly worship practices
• Follow and support the Lighthouse’s established safety parameters for candidates who
  desire to join the worship team
• Manage auditions and mentoring of members who have an interest in joining the
  worship team
• Assess worship equipment, informing the Leadership Team when items need to be repaired
  or replaced.
• Develop and maintain relationships with members of the congregation

Worship Leader Requirements and Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience leading worship preferred
• The understanding of music theory, scale and flow preferred
• Godly leadership and communication skills
• Efficiently plays an instrument with which to lead the songs
• Knowledge of different styles of music, such as traditional, contemporary, and gospel
• Ability to work collaboratively with volunteer worship team members
• Able to transpose and arrange music as needed to fit congregational needs
• Ability to effectively sing, lead, and engage a congregation in worship
• A passion for Jesus, worship, and spiritual growth
• Able to be accountable to pastors and the Leadership team

The Lighthouse provides and maintains a Song Select membership through which you can access musical resources online.
